So I found this cool picture of my grandfather from when he was in college. He looks pretty good not gonna lie. I see where I get my good looks from ;). Jokes aside, it’s really cool to be able to see what my grandpa was like at around my age. Imagining what kind of person he was on campus and what kind of person I am now. He was an international student coming all the way from China, to such a culturally different area like Kansas. I wonder what it was like for him. Back in college there was a future of endless possibilities for him, and here he is now at 80 years old, about 60 years after this picture was taken.

Later, I found out that at the time this picture was taken, he was 24 and my grandma was 22. They were already married and had both already taken one year of college back in Taiwan, and had two sons (My dad, and his brother). So much has happened in so little time for them. I also learned that my grandfather had a degree in civil engineering because his grandfather forced him to and told him he would never amount to anything unless he became a civil engineer. So my grandpa went to America, got his degree, mailed his diploma back to his grandfather, and when on to do what he really loved, business.

I would definitely say my grandfather is a very successful man, and my grandma told me going to college did not help him out at all since he does business, but studied engineering. Way to stick it to the man, yeye.
